November 11th is approaching and we at AB Med, would like to wish all who have served and continue to serve, a Happy Veterans Day! We thank you for your bravery, commitment and sacrifice to our country.
All our veterans deserve our respect and appreciation. However, when it comes to health, not all the veterans enjoy the same level of care. Many studies show the disparities between urban and rural healthcare services. Unfortunately, the veteran populations are affected directly from those inequalities.
Veterans who live in rural communities have worse health-related quality-of-life scores, when compared with their urban and suburban counterparts[i]. Many factors contribute to the healthcare gap between rural and urban environments and some are more difficult to address than others.
The population and healthcare needs of veterans in rural settings is increasing and their needs ought to be addressed. Let’s Connect.
